National Hazardous Weather Outlook for Tuesday March 19

Pockets of light rain and snow will stretch from Illinois and Iowa southwest to Colorado and northern New Mexico.  A secondary area of low pressure will produce some rain and interior snow over California.  Zones of high pressure will be situated over Virginia, Montana, and Maine with fair weather expected elsewhere across the country.  River flooding will continue to be a main focus over the Missouri River basin from South Dakota and Nebraska northeast to Michigan.  Flooding will be ongoing to the south along the Mississippi River, south to Louisiana.  This large area of flooding is expected to linger for several weeks and with any additional significant rainfall, the situation could become worse, particularly over Nebraska.
